Nootka Sound is the next frontier of salt- and fresh-water fly fishing on B.C.’s west coast. Come with Catchsalmonbc.com and sample the offshore saltwater fishery for as “silly” as it gets coho fly fishing and for the just-can’t-say-no black bass that you will catch until you can’t fish anymore. On the points of land, we will cast to incoming ocean Chinook to 40 pounds. On days the outside howls we have some lakes and streams to sample, and from August on, inside fishing for coho, chum, and Chinook salmon. And the best of the season starts when Labour Day finishes and the salmon start stuffing the river entrances. A week or two later, sample one of a dozen rivers for summer steelhead, Chinook and coho salmon in September through the end of October. We foster catch-and-release fisheries, though you may certainly take fish home if you wish.
